I have been in India recently and it has been more amazing than I could have hoped for. In fact I was quite pessimistic about it. But it has turned out to be a very anointed and a time to learn the Word, for new revelation and demonstrating what I was learning.
Its Monsoon season here and it rains like crazy sometimes. So all these bugs decide they have to reside in our house. As soon as the sun sets
you can see them coming out to party and they are wild! There are little ones you will never see crawling up on you and there are cockroaches that can flipping fly right up to you! So gross!
Anyway, something you may already know is that all these bugs are very attracted to light. They love the light and keep smashing their tiny bodies into the tube lights.
When the sun rises the next day, you would think they don't exist. They vanish, hide or whatever it is that they do!
It kind of made me think about us as Christians and us being the light of this world.
In our lives when it is morning it is often explained as a season of joy and peace and a rest. So as you can imagine I am writing this in the morning. No bugs! Woohoo! When the night arrives it is said to be a season of trial, sorrow and almost a time to fight.
James 1:2-4 says, "Consider, it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
When evening comes here in the house, you have to be ready to squash anything that wants to crawl up on you. So to avoid this we normally only use the light if we really need it, cause if the bugs see the light they will be there and they will see YOU!
As Christians, we have the option to live as darkness while in the darkness and we know we will be fine but that won't build us in any way in fact it keeps us weak, stoppable and ultimately ineffective. But when we choose to be the light in the darkness often a lot of people won't like it and would love to shut us up, try to prove us incompetent, insignificant and irrelevant. But here's what you need to remember, "Consider it pure Joy". In everything, consider it pure joy, when people try to hate, steal, and kill the goodness out of you, when you fight sickness or disease or even in times of loneliness.
It should make you proud that you have that kind of impact on people that they have to "try" and sting you in some way. Remember we are already victorious in Christ and we have won the final battle. That victory lies in making Jesus, your Lord and Savior and moving forward in the Kingdom of God. While salvation is one of the main steps, let's make sure we don't hesitate to listen, understand, obey and do the other things God is asking us to do. There are different things like Baptism of water [You were probably baptized as babies like me and your parents were believing for you but as an adult you make a physical confession with understanding that Jesus did die for you, you are getting buried with Him and rising with New life in Christ (one of the most powerful statements I have made in my life!)] and baptism of the Holy Spirit, hearing and doing the word, constantly renewing our minds to be more and more like Christ (with what we do and who we are, our character, our hands and feet that need to move as the Spirit leads and shows the presence of God in us wherever we go and with whatever we do).
There are however, rounds that lead to completing that battle. That is why it is said in James let us persevere so that we can become mature and complete. As most of you already know when we initially find Jesus we are like babies that need to be fed and need to grow, so when irritating and frustrating situations creep up remember to battle it out with faith. Jesus says in Luke 8:21 "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice”. Take charge, stand firm on the foundation that is Jesus and always remember God has the plan for you to prosper, give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

The word of God is full of promises and reminders of His goodness, grace, and mighty power that will work in your life if you allow it.
Let me encourage you, Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Jesus knows and has gone through every temptation and trial we can ever imagine possible. So He not only understands but also knows how to demolish and destroy any work of the enemy. Let me leave you with a song that really blessed my heart and encouraged me.
Keep alight!!! God bless!
